Since Halo Infinite's reveal two years ago, Microsoft and 343 Industries have kept details on the upcoming Xbox flagship shooter close to their chests. Today, a video was published that gives a tease on an enemy faction we might be encountering in the game, faction dubbed the Banished. Check out the intercepted transmission teaser above, or read the transcript below.
The hour approaches. Our forces occupy the ring. Within hours it will be under our control. Humanity will burn. Their brazen defiance will be all but a memory. No more Prophets. No more lies. We stand together. Brothers to the end. We are his will. We are his legacy. We are The Banished.
For those unfamiliar with the Banished, it is a Covenant separatist group mainly comprised of Grunts, arriving as a foe to both the humans and its former masters. The faction, and its powerful leader Atriox, was introduced in Halo Wars 2, Creative Assembly's 2017-launched real-time strategy title for Xbox One and Windows. This will be the first time that the well-received faction appears in the main series.
Halo Infinite doesn't have a firm release date yet, but it is set to arrive as a launch title for the Xbox Series X. The game will also launch on Windows 10 and Xbox One family of consoles. The title will continue Master Chief's story from Halo 5: Guardians, but it is slated to be a spiritual reboot of the franchise.
We should be getting more Halo Infinite information during Microsoft's July Inside Xbox showcase, which will focus on upcoming Xbox Game Studios titles.
