Thanks go to the guys over at Betas.Intercom.Net, who spotted that one of the set of tools that I use on a daily basis recently got updated, Woo Hoo!
IE Booster is a freeware collection of tools that extend the context menu of the web browser MS Internet Explorer (version 5 and up) for Windows.
IE Booster's feature list is impressive, it can show all forms and applets of a web page, page source, all hyperlinks, images and style sheets. More detailed info can be found on a selected image, and it's copy features include the ability to copy the current page title, link target, a selection as plain text or the current image to the clipboard.
Updates to v1.6 (10st November 2002) include:
- new function "Show TABLE, FORM and DIV Borders"
- new function: "Show Server Response". You now can right click on a link or an image and IEB shows you the server response (e.g. content-length, content-type and status: 200, 404 etc.).
- every analysis page now offers a "view source" link which opens the source of the current document in an external editor
- changes: "Show Stylesheets". A click on the URL of the referenced stylesheet files now results in opening the file in an external editor (e.g. Notepad)
- fixed a bug in "Show Images". Now the alt-attributes of the images are shown correctly
- The "open target" for analysis pages is now configurable. This means by simple changes in the file "functions.js" you are able to control if the analysis pages are displayed in the same window or in extra window
