Starting today, customers using Microsoft Teams can add a Yammer tab to their channels, which will load a specific group or topic feed. This essentially means you can switch between your conversations in Teams and Yammer without having to move between apps.
This will allow users to engage in Yammer conversations from within Teams, but also to discuss ideas about a Yammer conversation in a more private setting before posting to the wider Yammer crowd. Users will be separately authenticated into Yammer, so no one will see any content they're not supposed to.
Microsoft says this will help employees "get to the right information at the right time" and suggested a few ways this feature can be used. You can use Teams to discuss answers to complex questions posted on Yammer before answering them publicly or to keep tabs on certain topics being discussed on the social network so that they can be addressed by internal teams.
As mentioned above, the Yammer integration in Microsoft Teams is available starting today. You can get started with it by learning how to add a Yammer page to a Teams channel.
