Back in March, the Microsoft Store cut 25% off HP's Elite x3 Bundle, which includes the Desk Dock accessory that supports Windows 10 Mobile's PC-like Continuum experience. That deal concluded at the end of March, and the bundle continued to be sold at its full price of $799 in the weeks that followed.
Now, Microsoft has again slashed $200 off the bundle's price, reducing it to $599. This time, however, there's no indication that this is a limited-time deal; the store listing does not include any of the small print that Microsoft typically adds to its special offers, with no mention at all of a date on which the current discount might end.
Given the open-ended nature of the latest price cut, it's possible that Microsoft is clearing out stock of the device, which originally made its debut in February 2016. At the Mobile World Congress in March 2017, HP briefly showed off an updated version of the Elite x3, as well as a new, larger version of the notebook-style Lap Dock for the handset. Stock clearance discounts would make sense if HP is still planning to bring those new models to market, although it's worth noting that HP itself is still selling the Elite x3 and Desk Dock bundle at full price in the US.
The Elite x3's key specs include:
- 5.96-inch AMOLED with Quad HD (2560x1440px) resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 4, and anti-reflective coating

Meanwhile, over in the UK, HP is continuing to offer the Elite x3 and Desk Dock bundle for £583 - that's £174 below the price at which it originally launched. That deal has been available for six weeks now, but the offer of up to £500 cashback when trading in another handset has since ended.
