Late last month, the Whiteboard collaboration tool on Windows 10 received support for templates in public preview as part of Microsoft 365 updates. The templates provide users with layouts ready for use in starting a plan and Microsoft vowed then to roll out the update to iOS in the future.
Today, Microsoft made good on its promise and updated the Whiteboard app for iOS with collaborative templates in preview. There are 10 different templates to choose from to get started with various activities such as brainstorming, sprint planning, and more.
Here is the full changelog of the app on the App Store:
This release has updates that should make it much easier to organize ideas and structure meetings.
- Templates: Now in public preview, collaborative templates can be inserted on the canvas for brainstorming, sprint planning, and more.
- Lots of bug fixes, including several accessibility improvements!
The newest enhancement marks the latest in a string of updates added to Whiteboard over the past several months. Earlier this year, Microsoft introduced a new design for Whiteboard's board picker on iOS. The collaboration service was also integrated into Teams along with the addition of customizable backgrounds a month after that.
The update also bumps up Whiteboard's version number to 19.11007.0 on iOS. You can get the templates by updating the Whiteboard app or downloading it from the App Store if you haven't already.
