After nearly 20 years with Microsoft, CVP of Gaming Mike Ybarra announced that he's moving on from greener pastures (get it - because Xbox is green). He announced his departure on Twitter, thanking Team Xbox for its work and thanking fellow gamers and fans for their support.
Ybarra joined Microsoft in June 2000 (according to LinkedIn) as a systems engineer. In 2006, he became General Manager for Windows Product Management for Windows 7. It wasn't until October 2009 that Ybarra found his home with Xbox, as General Manager of Xbox Live.
Mike Ybarra has always been one of the more active members of the Xbox team on social media, always interacting with fans. It's unclear who is going to take on his roles at Microsoft, being that he actually had a long list of responsibilities including things like Xbox Live, Xbox Game Pass, Mixer, and more. Ybarra also didn't say where he'll be heading next, only that there's more to come.
