A few weeks ago, Nokia announced it would be holding a press event in London on Tuesday, May 14th to reveal something related to its Lumia lineup of Windows Phone 8 smartphones. Thankfully, the company will also give everyone else in the world a chance to see what's going on inside the media conference.
Nokia contacted us to let us know that they will indeed offer a webcast of the May 14th press conference, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. local time (5 a.m. Eastern time and 2 a.m. Pacific time). The fact that Nokia is offering a webcast shows that the company considers this event to be an important one.
Nokia just announced the Lumia 928 that will be sold by Verizon starting next week, so it's likely that the London event on Tuesday could reveal one or more rumored Lumia models. One of them might be the device with the code name "Catwalk", a variant of the Lumia 920 but with an aluminum body. Nokia could also reveal another smartphone that has the code name "EOS." This device, which has been rumored for months, could have a high-megapixel PureView camera inside, similar to the 41 megapixel camera in the 2012 released 808 Pureview smartphone.
Earlier today, we reported that Vodafone hinted that only one new Lumia will be announced at next week's event, a device that the carrier describes as "big, bold and beautiful". It also confirmed that it will be among the first UK operators to launch the device.
Neowin will be reporting from the event to bring you all the info you'll need on the new Lumia. Be sure to follow us on Twitter @NeowinFeed to stay up to date with all of the latest updates.
