Over the past month, there have been rumors about the upcoming, unannounced, and unconfirmed successor to the OnePlus 5T. While the specifications of any handset are certainly important, most of those interested in the upcoming handset have been concerned about its appearance. This is because as an early alleged leak showed off a device with a notch in the top of the display. Now, to lend more credence to the previously known information, it appears that there is a reference to this notch, in the latest Open Beta update.
Although Open Beta 4 recently just found its way to the OnePlus 5T, the folks at XDA Developers wasted no time at all digging through the code. What they found was a reference to what they think is the OnePlus 6, codenamed 'enchilada', and the image you can see above with the title: “screendecor_up_img_enchilada_1″.
Now, this isn't proof positive that a notched OnePlus 6 is coming, but it is certainly interesting and could indicate at the very least that the interface is being tested.
If that wasn't enough, OPPO's recent teaser of its R15, could also give clues of what's to come. If unfamiliar, OPPO is the parent company of OnePlus, and for its past few handsets releases, the latter has managed to "borrow" designs from the former. While we most likely still have some time before OnePlus makes things official, it is very likely that the firm will borrow once again.
