The Microsoft game streaming service that is in preview right now, Project xCloud, is officially expanding to include 11 more countries, and the new group is entirely from Western Europe. The preview had so far been available in the U.S., the UK, South Korea, and more recently, Canada.
Here are the newly announced countries Project xCloud preview is coming to next:
- Belgium
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Ireland
- Italy
- The Netherlands
- Norway
- Spain
- Sweden
Microsoft is aware of the bandwidth stress the rollout of xCloud will impose on these regions considering the situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, the company will only be kicking off the service when it's "confident it is sensible to do so."
"We will take a measured approach to help conserve internet access beginning the preview in each market with a limited number of people and adding more participants over time," added Microsoft.
Android users dwelling in the listed regions can register for the Project xCloud preview starting today by heading over here. Although an iOS version is also in testing, it doesn't look like it will be available in the preview of these countries, at least at the beginning. As previously mentioned, the testing itself hasn't kicked off yet, but when it is time, Microsoft will be sending out emails with instructions to the selected participants.
