Another week of January has gone by, and the Epic Games is ready as usual with a new freebie. Coming in as a replacement for last week's Galactic Civilizations III is a copy of Relicta, and the Epic Games Store is giving you until next Thursday to claim it to your library.

Described as a physics-based puzzle game, the title provides access to magnetism and gravity manipulation abilities for solving and getting past problems. Set on a derelict base on the Moon, the story follows a stranded physicist as she looks for a way to save her daughter.

Here's a brief description of the setting from the store page:

Will you rush straight ahead and try to reach safety - or will you take your time to gather clues and unravel the intrigues of 22nd century orbital politics? Buried in the eternal darkness of the lunar craters lies a secret that might claim your daughter’s life - or change the fate of humanity forever. Are you ready to face the ultimate consequences of your research?

When it is not on sale or busy being a freebie, Relicta costs $19.99 to purchase. Here are the minimum requirements for playing:

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • Processor: Core i3 / Athlon 64 X2 6400
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 / ATI Radeon HD 5770
  • Storage: 12 GB available space

Relicta is free to claim on the Epic Games Store until January 27. Next on the freebie tour is a copy of DAEMON X MACHINA, which kicks off on the same date mentioned before.
