Samsung’s next generation of foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, will be unveiled in July alongside a new passport-style foldable called the Galaxy Z Fold Wide. Almost two months before the official launch, the specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold Wide, including battery and camera details, have leaked.

According to Greek tech website TechManiacs, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 will not offer significant upgrades compared to its predecessor, as Samsung is focusing on minor improvements and refining the user experience with this year’s foldables. The outlet claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is 4.1mm thick and weighs 210g.

Moreover, it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, similar to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The outer display is also reportedly unchanged from the Galaxy Z Fold 7, featuring a 6.5-inch outer screen and an 8-inch inner display.

TechManiacs also says that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 camera setup includes a 200MP main sensor and a 10MP selfie camera. Meanwhile, Samsung has reportedly adopted a 50MP ultra-wide camera in this model instead of a 12MP unit. As for the battery, the outlet reports that Samsung may opt for a larger 5,000mAh battery instead of the 4,400mAh unit used in previous versions. The Z Fold 8’s battery allegedly supports 45W wired charging.

However, the Galaxy Z Fold Wide is one of the most anticipated foldables of the year, aiming to compete with Apple’s iPhone Fold. TechManiacs reports that the device features a passport-style design, a design we have already seen in some Huawei foldables. It is also reportedly equipped with two rear cameras, including a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.

The Galaxy Z Fold Wide is also said to feature a 7.6-inch internal display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 4,800mAh battery that supports 45W charging. The device also weighs around 200g.

Korean sources have already reported that the next Samsung Unpacked event will be held in London on July 22, where the company is expected to announce its next-generation foldables alongside smart glasses.
