Taking to the PlayStation Blog, Sony Interactive Entertainment's Sid Shuman announced today that the next episode of State of Play will be centered entirely around the upcoming video game from Sucker Punch Productions, Ghost of Tsushima.
The special episode will air this Thursday, on May 14 at 1:00 pm PT (4:00 pm EST). It will feature an extensive look on the samurai title including in-game combat, new video game footage, and more. Shuman commented on the length of this new video which will show more of the in-game mechanics and the world within it:
"You’ll get an extended look at new gameplay footage, including exploration, combat and more. The current cut is clocking in around 18 minutes, give or take."
Sony's Ghost of Tsushima flavored State of Play episode will be live-streamed this Thursday. Those interested in seeing it can view it live on either YouTube or Twitch. Unfortunately - and to the disappointment of many - Shuman also explicitly stated that there will no PlayStation 5 related news or updates in this Thursday's broadcast, just "a big, beautiful look at Sucker Punch’s PS4 open-world epic".
Sony and Sucker Punch Production's samurai epic Ghost of Tsushima has been in the works for quite a while now. The game was originally unveiled for the PlayStation 4 back in 2017 and made an appearance at E3 2018. A release date of June 26 was assigned to the game but this was pushed back to July 17, 2020, in April.
