Sony Mobile Communications announced the latest range of Xperia NXT series handsets earlier today at the Mobile World Congress conference in Barcelona. The new additions to the series are the Xperia P and the Xperia U, the news comes just as Sony begins to sell their top-end Xperia S handset across Europe.
As expected, both new handsets follow similar design principles started with the Xperia S handset, which was first shown off last month. The look of all three devices helps set it apart from other smartphones on the market at the moment.
The main standout design feature of NXT series is the transparent element towards the bottom of the handsets. The Xperia U takes this area one step further with the option to have this transparent area illuminate with colors that match both your album art or the color of your photos.
The Xperia P is the first mobile device from Sony which features their “WhiteMagic” display technology, which is supposed to allow the brightest viewing experience no matter where you are, while conserving battery life.
