Surface Laptop Go gets its first firmware update, improving Windows Hello

Microsoft released the Surface Laptop Go earlier this year, as an affordable take on the laptop form factor; basically doing for the Surface Laptop what the Surface Go did for the Surface Pro. The Laptop Go was one of the very few Surface devices that didn't get a firmware update on launch day, and until now, it hadn't received a firmware update at all.

That's now changed, as Microsoft is rolling out the first-ever firmware update for the Surface Laptop Go, with some improvements in tow. Specifically, Microsoft is improving the performance of the fingerprint reader for Windows Hello in models that have it, among other things like telemetry improvements. here's the full changelog for the update:

As you can tell, it's not an overly extensive set of updates, and the list of improvements seems minimal. Still, if you've had any issues with your experience with the Surface Laptop Go, these updates may help. As usual, it's possible that the update won't roll out to all users at the same time, but you should get it sooner rather than later.
