Microsoft recently blocked all Windows 7 and 8.1 keys from activating any Windows 11 version or edition. However, you can get a genuine Windows 11 license key for less and save $20.
Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 7 and 8 keys can no longer activate any Windows 11 edition or version, not just Canary builds, as reported in September. However, Windows 10 keys are still valid.
Microsoft will officially stop selling Windows 10 licenses on its website by the end of this month. This means that you will only be able to buy the OS through third-party retailers.
If you need to activate a copy of Windows 11 without paying $139 or more, try getting genuine Windows 7 keys, as they are still valid for activating newer Windows versions, such as 11 and 10.
