Acer announced the TravelMate X514-51, its latest thin and light business laptop. In fact, it's one of the thinnest and lightest on the market, coming in at 0.6 inches thin and 2.16 pounds (980 grams). It uses a magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum alloy for the chassis so it can be stronger than aluminum while still weighing less.
The Windows 10 laptop has a 14-inch FHD display with touch, along with up to an eighth-generation Core i7 CPU. As you can see from the image above, it also has USB Type-A ports, so you're not making the typical sacrifices that come with a thin and light PC. Of course, USB Type-A is necessary in a business laptop, just like how the device retains a top bezel to include the webcam.
Acer is also promising easy repairability with the TravelMate X514-51. Removing the bottom panel with 11 screws will provide access to the SSD, battery, heatsink, and Wi-Fi NIC.
The laptop will be available in June, starting at $1,099.99. That will get you a Core i5, 8GB DDR4 RAM, and a 256GB SSD. You can also have it configured with a Core i7, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, and up to a 512GB SSD. It ships with Windows 10 Pro.
