If you were expecting a new iPad Air announcement this year, your hopes may be dashed as reports indicate that Apple has no plans to release a successor to the 'iPad Air 2' this year.
According to DigiTimes, Apple is being a bit more conservative this year due to their declining tablet sales. If the source for DigiTimes is to be believed, Apple will not produce a successor for the iPad Air in 2015, but will instead focus on the iPad Mini and rumored 'iPad Pro'.
While details for the next iPad Mini are scarce, Apple will most likely introduce better internals, along with a "Force Touch" display. But, the real head-turner for Apple will be the larger 'iPad Pro'. This device has hit the rumor mill multiple times for over a year, but has yet to manifest itself at an event. The 12-inch model with stylus input wil be Apple's contender to Microsoft's Surface Pro tablet.
Apple is expected to hold a press event in September that could see the debut of the next iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
Since the above are just rumors, you should however, take this with a pinch of salt.
