The Kindle Paperwhite has been out for a while, but hasn't seen any permanent price reductions since the current (3rd) generation became available in 2015 (with the white version arriving in 2016), and it's hardly surprising since the $119.99 price isn't going to break the bank for what it offers.
Amazon special offers have reduced that price once in a while, and this weekend it's back in discount, just like the Amazon Fire HD 10 deal ($109.99 until 04/15) from yesterday, it is now available for $40 off if you're a Prime member bringing its price down to just $79.99 this weekend.
Here's a few of its specs:
- Amazon's 6” Paperwhite display technology with E Ink Carta and built-in light
- 300ppi, optimized font technology, 16-level grayscale.
- Storage 4 GB (1000's of books)
- Weight: 7.2 oz (205g)
- Available in black or white
- No screen glare, even in bright sunlight, unlike tablets
- A single battery charge lasts weeks, not hours
- Prime members read free with unlimited access to over a thousand titles
With Mother's Day coming up in May, this could be an ideal gift or just to treat yourself or a loved one, but be aware this deal ends tomorrow.
Get the Kindle Paperwhite E-reader at $79.99 with Amazon Prime.
Update: This deal includes TechBargains referral link so that Neowin gets a little bit of commission on each sale, however the link does not take you to a third party site. All sales are finalized at Amazon.
