One of the most notable announcements at Nintendo's E3 presentation earlier this year was that the critically acclaimed title The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would find its way onto the Switch sometime in 2019. The game is set to arrive in the form of a definitive edition, packing the base game and all of the additional paid content released to it over time, and it makes it possible to bring the game on the go for the first time.
Until now, however, the Switch port was without a definitive release date. Today, during the gamescom opening night press conference, CD Projekt RED announced that the game will be landing on the hybrid on October 15. The announcement came with a new cinematic trailer for the Switch version of the game, which shows off more of the setting for the story.
Naturally, the game won't look its best on Nintendo's platform, but the release marks the franchise's debut on one of the Japanese firm's consoles, and it's the easiest to way to play the adventure no matter where you are.
CD Projekt RED has also revealed that the game is now available for pre-order from a few retailers, and the physical version includes some nice bonuses for fans - stickers, a map of the game's world, and a compendium on the Witcher universe. You can head here to pre-order the game from your preferred retailer.
