WhatsApp Beta UWP app on Windows is getting better and a lot more usable with every update. Earlier this month, the Meta-owned instant chat messenger added the ability to archive chats to its UWP desktop client. This is a useful feature, but Meta has recently added another to elevate the app experience.
WhatsApp Beta UWP app on Windows now gives you an option to filter your chats. You can filter your conversations to show messages from just unread chats, contacts, non-contacts, and groups. These filters are self-explanatory, and our readers are smart enough to know what each of these will do. That said, if you sort your messages to show messages just from the groups that you are part of, it will show you chats of all groups, including the ones you archived. It works the same way if you select other filters.
The new Chat filter feature is available on WhatsApp Beta 2.2216.4.0, which is the latest version of the app. So if you're not running the latest version, go to the Microsoft Store and update to the latest version to get the new filters. A similar capability is already available for WhatsApp Business users on Android and iOS.
Hopefully, WhatsApp Beta will continue to get better with future updates. One of the most anticipated features that are coming to its UWP app includes message reactions. The feature is currently in the development phase and will have a broader rollout once ready.
