Microsoft has finally launched its highly anticipated OS, WP7 in the United States. The platform is launching on AT&T and T-Mobile, AT&T is offering up three devices for $199.99. The HTC HD7, HTC Surround, and the Samsung Focus are all up for grabs for committing to be an indentured servant (contract) for 2 years; T-Mobile is also offering the HD7 for $199.99 on a two year commitment as well.
It's not known yet how well the launch is going at AT&T and T-Mobile, there is little information available if lines formed in anticipation for the launch or if users are finding stores short on supply.
As Windows Phone 7 launches across the world, starting in New Zealand with the first phone sold in the world, followed by the Australia, Europe and the United States, Microsoft is going head on into an intense phone platform battle, where the company has been lagging behind for many years.
