WWE 2K fans on the PC are pretty much used to getting a delayed launch compared to the console versions, with the annoying tradition stretching back to WWE 2K15. However, for the first time in the series, this year's professional wrestling title, WWE 2K18, will launch on the PC on the same day as Xbox One and PlayStation 4, on October 17.
Be that as it may, console players will still be able to play the game earlier than their PC brethren if they purchase the game's $90 Deluxe Edition, as it provides a four-day early access pass. This early access 'perk' is not available on the PC version's deluxe edition.
The full contents and differences between the Standard and Deluxe editions on the PC can be seen below:
WWE 2K18 Deluxe Edition
- Copy of WWE 2K18
- Pre-order to play as Kurt Angle’s WWE “American Hero” persona, as well as his ECW “Wrestling Machine" persona
- WWE 2K18 Season Pass digital content (details announced soon)
- Playable WWE Legends and John Cena Rivals: Batista and Rob Van Dam
- Playable John Cena Characters: ECW One Night Stand (2006) and WrestleMania 26 (2010)
WWE 2K18 Standard Edition
- Copy of WWE 2K18
- Pre-order to play as Kurt Angle’s WWE “American Hero” persona, as well as his ECW “Wrestling Machine" persona
The extra downloadable content that is included with the Deluxe edition will also be available as separate purchases.
WWE 2K18's Steam store page is already up, with both versions available for pre-order. Aside from the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC versions, WWE 2K18 is also heading for the Nintendo Switch. While Switch version will contain all the gameplay features from the other versions, it has a delayed launch scheduled for Fall 2017.
