The Humble Store is quite famous for giving away paid titles for free on Steam. Over the past few months, the site has listed Civilization III, Homefront, and Company of Heroes 2 at $0.00 for a limited time. Its latest deal included the Amnesia collection in January.
Now, the series' publisher has made the collection available for free on Valve's Steam platform for a limited time as well.
The Amnesia Collection contains both titles from the series, which are Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. The first game in particular is highly regarded by both critics and fans of the horror genre. A Machine for Pigs, which is an indirect sequel, wasn't as well-received but is still a decent title.
The series' gameplay mechanics rely primarily on stealth to avoid dangers, and not giving the player any weapons to defend themselves has become a prevalent mechanic in the genre.
Normally, the Amnesia Collection costs $34.99, but if you head over to the Steam page right now, you can grab it for free - which is a great deal, especially if you missed the earlier Humble Store offering. Due to what appears to be a temporary bug, some gamers are seeing the individual games available for free, but the collection still listed as $34.99. In such a case, you can navigate to the individual game's page to get it for free.
It is important to note that the offer lasts for a limited time only. However, if you manage to get the titles for free during this unspecified time period, the games will be listed in your library permanently.
